Royal Academy of Arts
Summer Exhibition
London, UK
The exhibition is a visual display of UK urbanity and landscape that takes you on a journey from London Paddington Station to the Eden Project by Grimshaw Architects in Cornwall.

Details Count.
The journey begins at London Paddington Station. The articulation in the iron structural details manifest the marvel of the industrial revolution in England.
Speed and Smoke.
Mechanical locomotive with steam engine is the starting point of modernity, urbanisation, and new mobility paradigm.
Connectivity.
Along the railroad and bridges, the train pass through many connecting towns and farmlands. Going away from the high-rises, we enter areas of meandering rows of terraced house and open areas of greenery.
The Making.
Along the way, we shall not forget to celebrate the making of Eden Project. The semi-dome shaped space-structure with ETFE pillows, is one of a kind in the world that uses such advance technology to enclose the entire building.
Destination.
The journey ends in Cornwall, where Eden Project locates. As architects and planners, most of the time we only look at the plan views of our design. Don’t we all wish to look at the reality from above, like a bird…
